Our mission is to evolve the mental health industry through evidence-based learning and professional development.

Why now

Young people are at the highest risk for mental health issues like depression, anxiety, and ADHD, and the mental health industry at large is not fully equipped to deal with modern stressors that have emerged as a result of the digital age.

What we do

HG Institute helps build awareness around the unique mental health needs of the digital generation, and addresses current trends and gaps in the industry through professional development and cultivating community.

How we do it

Founded by Harvard-trained psychiatrist, Dr. Alok Kanojia, HG Institute brings on talents from all over the mental health space. As part of the digital generation themselves, our team is dedicated to evolving the future of mental health care.

Alexandra W.

Hi! I’m Alexandra (she/her). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Geek Therapist. I have worked in Community and School Based Mental Health for 10+ years. I’ve seen firsthand the lack of access to qualified therapists and mental health resources. I joined Healthy Gamer because the peer support coaching model we utilize is greatly needed in the field and has the potential to become an integral part of mental health care. When I log off (work/life boundaries!) I am probably curled up with my German Shepherd reading a book or playing a cozy game to relax.

Hannah D.

Hello, I'm Hannah, and I'm the driving force behind forging meaningful relationships as the Strategic Partnerships Manager at Healthy Gamer. My expertise centers around defining the ideal partnerships and executing strategic plans that align Healthy Gamer with our partners' goals and objectives. From cultivating collaborative partnerships across various industries, including brand, gaming, medical, and mental health, to executing partnership programs, I am committed to creating successful alliances that leave a lasting impact. With a data-driven approach and a keen eye for detail, I ensure the growth and prosperity of our partnerships, turning our vision of a healthier world into a tangible reality.

Dragon D.

Hi, my name is Dragon (no, it's not my gamer tag). I've been with HG since February of 2020 and got involved after going on a whim to invite Dr. K to speak at an event I hosted for Boston University's Gaming Club (Go Terriers!). I do a bunch of things for HG, but am mainly involved in the hiring process for new coaches. I have two cats, Bilbao and Cordoba, my top personal achievements are that I can squat 275, bench 175, and my vertical is 2 inches (not actually...). I’m also currently studying counseling in hopes of becoming a mental health wiz like Dr. K one day.
